North Shore Hebrew Academy High School: from NY to Buenos Aires |
|
Over thirty 16 years old students of North Shore Hebrew Academy High School came all the way from New York to Buenos Aires to learn about one of the largest Jewish communities worldwide while enjoying of the numerous attractions that Buenos Aires has to offer.
The group was hosted by Kosherlat. Valeria Duek, Kosherlat's director, put together an itinerary that combined the many attractions of one of the most beautiful cities in South America with the sites and synagogues that tell the History of the active Argentinean Jewish community.
The itinerary reflected every interest and need of the group, such as a chessed activity and visits to locals Jewish high schools.
The interchange with the students of the local Jewish high schools was greater than any student could anticipated prior to the trip. Acording to the testimonial of Ruthy Freilich, one of the NSHAHS trip's participant, she really enjoyed visiting the different schools because I she got to meet kids her age who lived in a completely different country with a completely different culture yet to her surprise we shared many similarities and she made bonds sge hopes to maintain forever.
The local Jewish community expressed in many occasions that they would be delighted to host the NS students again in the future.
